| A: | So we've decided what we are going to
visit, and now we should decide how we are going to
get from one place to another. |

                        | B: | Well, there's an excellent public transportation
system there, you know. I don't think we have to worry
                          about that. |

                        | A: | Public transport?! You mean buses and
                          the subway? |

                        | B: | Of course. |

                        | A: | Oh, come on! We're going to be on holiday.
We don't need to waste time on buses and trains. We
can travel by taxi. We can get in, tell the driver where
we want to go and then sit back and relax in comfort
while he or she takes us to the destination. |

                        | B: | Taxi!? Oh no, I'd really rather travel
by bus or subway. As you said, we'll be on holiday so
                          we won't be in a hurry. |

                        | A: | But I'd rather spend the time visiting
places than being stuck on buses. |

                        | B: | Look, if we use public transport we'll
be able to meet local people, get a better idea of daily
life and so on. That's what travel really means, you
know. Besides, taxis are so expensive. |

                        | A: | But they're worth it. They are clean,
comfortable and convenient. If you want to make friends
with people, you can make friends with the taxi drivers.
And they know much more about the city than the commuters,
most of whom will probably be rushing from one place
to another and won't have time to sit and chat. |

                        | B: | Oh, I don't know. |

                        | A: | You're thinking of the expense, aren't
you? What about if I pay? |

                        | B: | You're missing the point. |

                        | A: | Ok, sometimes we'll take taxis
and sometimes we'll take the subway. Would you be happy
                          with that? |

                        | B: | I guess so. |

                        | A: | Good, it's settled then. |
