¡¡¡¡The earliest inhabitants of Canada came from Asia by way of Bering Strait more than 10000 years ago. The Aboriginal people living in the north are the Inuits (formerly called the Eskimos which is now considered a derogative term). Their numbers were estimated at 3700 in 1910 but increased to about 6000 in the 1920s and to more than 20000 in the late 20th century. | ||
