| ( Hello, everyone. Today
we'll start to learn Unit One HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR STUDY
HABITS. We'll cover this lesson in 6 periods. In the first
three periods we'll go over the major text and focus our attention
on the overall understanding of the text and some related knowledge.
In the next three periods we'll learn some language points in the
text, do the follow-up exercises and focus listening and then come
to the reading and writing practice. After each period of lesson,
we have provided some little assignments
for the lesson so that you can consolidate what you have learned in
class and prepare for the next period. Now, before we come to the major text itself, let's first see some related information about the text and also the new words. )   In
the modern society and especially in the 21st century, education has
become extremely important for the progress of a society and our self-development.
People often say that ignorance and poverty go hand in hand (愚昧与贫穷共存).
This means that if a nation remains ignorant it can never become prosperous
and strong. Since
education is essential to the development of a nation and a person,
we should attach great importance to it. Although all of us have been
students for more than ten years, sometimes we are still puzzled with
such problems as how we can learn the most within the least possible
time, how we can enjoy our studying and how we can remember what we
have learned. To solve these problems, the text in Unit One may be
of some help to us. |
