Communicative Tasks : Task 1

Situation: Work in pairs to practice interviewing for a part-time job working on campus as a clerk in the library or the bookstore. Take turns as the interviewer and the candidate. Typical answers should be 30-60 seconds long.
Tips:
Here are some questions the interviewer may ask:
Please briefly describe yourself (experience, education, character traits, etc.)
What are your career goals?
What are your greatest achievements?
What are your main strengths and weaknesses?
What are your special skills (languages, computers, etc.)

Do you have any questions about the job?
Do you have anything else to say about yourself before I make my decision?

Here are some things the candidate should remember:
Smile and look at the interviewer.
Don’t sit down until asked to do so.
Don’t fidget with your hands.
Don’t be too relaxed or too stiff.
Don’t make your answers too short or too long.
Be flexible about what you expect.
Be sure to have a question about the job but don’t ask too much about pay or promotions.
At the end of the interview be sure to thank the interviewer for the opportunity to seek the job.
