Jack: I
find it easy to make friends in China. People
here are very friendly. They smile all the
time, especially the girls.
Wang Hong: We're taught to be cheerful,
so other people will like us. But we're not
always trying to make new friends.
Jack: That's how it seems to me. Maybe
it's because we make new friends quite often.
Wang Hong: We think it's just as important
to maintain our old friendships. Some of them
last a lifetime, beginning in childhood.
Jack: Would you rather have a lot of
friends or a few very good friends?
Wang Hong: Having too many very good
friends would be too difficult.
Jack: Perhaps we could agree that it
would be ideal to be married to your very
best friend.
Wang Hong: Yes, I think that would
be wonderful in any country! But I'm still
looking for the right person. |
