General Writing: Relative and Appositive Clauses
Relative clauses are dependent clauses, so named because they begin with a relative pronoun: who, which, or that. Relative clauses are used to modify nouns denoting people or things.
Examples:
    The women who live in the same house on Green Street are cousins.
Jack, who teaches mechanical drawing, also has his law degree.
The party, which you threw for my birthday, was really wild.
The Alexander Bridge, which was built in 1927, spans the Feather River.
The building that caught on fire was condemned(被宣布为危房)a month ago.
I'd like to meet the boy that won the district speech contest.

1.Put in the best relative pronouns who, which, or that to complete each of the following complex sentences. Also, underline the relative clause.
Example: The groceries that you just bought should last for weeks.
1. The sweater I bought at Macy's shrank two sizes when I washed it.
2. The men own the Main Street realty(不动产)office buy a lot of land for themselves.
3. The Mecha Christmas party, has become an annual event, is always well attended.
4. The problem we will study today is on page eight.
5. A man was wearing a yellow shirt asked me for a cigarette.
