1. No. Everything
in the world is not absolute. If an average student
improves his/her
study habits, he/she can become a top student.
2. Because if you
plan your time carefully, you can make the best use
of it for both study
and relaxation.
3. No. Spending
all the free time studying is not a wise choice. In
my free time I first do
some reviewing and previewing work of study, and then
do anything I'd like to, such as
reading novels, going to the cinema, playing tennis
and so on.
4. I usually study
either in the library or in my classroom in the evening,
but not in my
bedroom, because the library and classroom can provide
me with a quiet and
comfortable studying condition without distraction.
5. Skimming means
looking quickly through a passage before you begin to
read it more
carefully. It's important because it can help double
your reading speed and improve
your comprehension. You can skip some less important
material since you have already
located the main idea and known the structure of the
passage.
6. In order to make
good use of my time in class, I always sit where I can
see and hear
well, listen to the teacher carefully and take notes.
7. Yes. Taking notes
while listening to the teacher is very helpful because
it makes me
concentrate on what the teacher is saying in class
and have a better reviewing after
class.
8. No. It's unnecessary
to write down everything that the teacher says. I only
write down
those important points mentioned in class and the
points I remain confused about.
9. I should
go over my notes as soon as I can after class. Regular
reviewing will help me to
understand the material better and remember it longer,
which will enable me to get
better grades on tests.
10. The purpose
of a test is to show what I have learned about a subject.
In addition to
providing grades, tests also let me know what I need
to spend more time studying and
help me remember the new knowledge permanently.
11. Among the six
suggestions in the text I find "Plan your time
carefully" the most helpful
to me. I didn't have a schedule before, so a lot of
things were done irregularly. As a
result time was wasted and I didn't enjoy the rich
life as it should have been.
12. Yes. I think
reading widely is very beneficial to my study. Extensive
reading enables me
to have a quick mind and better comprehension. |
