Word Building

  Affixation is one of the chief means of word-formation in English. It is generally defined as the formation of words by adding word-forming affixes ( prefixes and suffixes) to stems. In the exercise below, we will learn to form nouns from verbs by adding suffixes -ment,-ation,sion. It is easier and convenient for you to know more words.
VI.Directions:The suffixes (朔弸) -ment, -ation, -sion, and -ion are used to form nouns (兆簡)
 from verbs, e.g.
