Volunteering
Volunteering is a great way of getting involved. Most sporting
events would never be possible without the support and dedication
of thousands of people. The Sydney Olympics was proof that
the common people of Sydney were capable of contributing to
world class sporting events.
Volunteering is a great way to gain work experience. Although
it's not a paid role, it offers a variety of skills that could
be of great value to any employer, e.g. working in a team,
working unsociable hours, attending training, dealing with
people, using initiative and often requiring a very early
start.
